Safety Awareness

To promote road safety and responsible driving, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown, RID 3240, installed traffic awareness posters at Panitanki More, one of the busiest and most important traffic junctions in Siliguri. The area witnesses heavy vehicular movement throughout the day, making it an ideal location for spreading awareness among motorists and commuters. The posters display important safety messages such as “Don’t Use Mobile While Driving,” “Fasten Seat Belt While Driving,” “Drive Within Speed Limits,” and “Drive Safe.” Through this initiative, the club aims to encourage adherence to traffic regulations and reduce the risk of road accidents. The strategically placed boards serve as constant reminders for road users, helping create a culture of safe and disciplined driving. This project reflects the club’s commitment to community service and public welfare.

Welfare Camp - Forbesganj

The Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown participated in a Medical and Family Welfare Camp at Forbesganj, organized in association with the family of Late Bhagwatram Agarwal and Late Ratna Devi Agarwal, with support from PI World School. The camp focused on providing healthcare services to the needy. Led by President RTN Sanjay Goyal Junior and Secretary RTN Dr. Nikhil Agrawal, the club was represented by RTN Dr. Nikhil Agrawal and RTN Rajesh Kumar Agrawal along with their spouses. Over 12 doctors provided consultations in gastroenterology, paediatrics, general surgery, dentistry, and ophthalmology, serving more than 500 patients. Chocolates, Oreo biscuits, and medical samples were distributed, and members assisted in coordination and management. The camp received wide publicity and reflected Rotary’s spirit of Service Above Self.

Winter Camp - Bal Kunj 2026

Under the Food for All Initiative and in line with our theme “Unite for Good”, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown conducted a social service project at St. Joseph’s School, North Point, Darjeeling, during the Winter Camp – Bal Kunj 2026 on 30th January 2026. The project was undertaken in association with the Darjeeling North Point School Alumni Association – Siliguri Chapter. The objective was to support underprivileged children by providing essential food and learning materials. Our club distributed Oreo jumbo-size biscuit packets, juice items, chocolates, and stationery to the beneficiaries. These contributions brought joy, encouragement, and nutritional support to the children on their graduation day. The project was carried out successfully under the leadership of President Rtn. Sanjay Goyal Jr. and Secretary Rtn. Dr. Nikhil Agrawal, with active participation of club members. This initiative reflected our commitment to service and community welfare.

Chemistry Lab & Water Filter Installation

On 24 August 2025, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown inaugurated a new Water Filter System and fully equipped Chemistry Laboratory at Sarda Vidya Mandir (HS), Putimari, Fulbari. Supported by Rotary District 3240 Foundation and club members, the project benefits over 300 students by providing clean drinking water and enhancing science education. The event featured Past District Governor Rtn. Sukhminder Singh, club leaders, and blessings from members’ families. Highlights included a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony, lab demonstrations, inspiring speeches, and a fellowship breakfast. This initiative strengthens health and educational infrastructure, reflecting the Rotary theme 2025–26: Unite for Good.

Dental Check up and Awareness Camp

Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown, under the theme Unite for Good, conducted a Dental Check-Up & Awareness Camp on 20th August 2025 at NHPC, Teesta Low Dam Project – IV. Led by President Rtn. Sanjay Goyal and Secretary Rtn. Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, with guidance from Dr. Prashant Chaudhari, Sr. DCMO, the camp examined 79 patients. Free dental consultations, check-ups, and oral health awareness sessions were provided by Dr. Avinash Gupta, Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, and Dr. Ria Agarwal. Chocolates and biscuits were distributed to patients. The event concluded with lunch attended by senior office bearers and Dr. Chaudhari. This initiative promoted oral health and reflected Rotary’s spirit of Service Above Self. Special thanks to NHPC TLDP–4 management, doctors, dental assistants, and all Rotarians for their support.

Spreading Awareness on World Hepatitis Day

On 27th July 2025, Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Siliguri, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, and Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital, organized a Scientific Awareness Session at Hotel Surya Grand, Siliguri to mark World Hepatitis Day. Expert speakers Dr. Nadeem Parvez (Gastroenterology) and Dr. Tanmoy Maji (Hepatology) highlighted the types of viral hepatitis, risk factors, prevention, treatment, and importance of vaccination. Free Dental Awareness & Check up Camp

On 6th July 2025, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown organized a Dental Check-up Camp at Moonee Tea Estate, Bagdogra, in collaboration with the Terai Tea Garden Workers and Labour Welfare Society. The initiative aimed to extend healthcare support to tea garden workers and their families, who often lack access to dental facilities. The camp was conducted by Rtn Dr. Avinash Gupta, providing free consultations, awareness, and preventive guidance. Around 100 children, along with several other beneficiaries, received dental check-ups and advice on oral hygiene. Rotarians present included Rtn Sanjay Goyal, Rtn Rakesh Agarwal, Rtn Pradip Khemka, and Rtn Dr. Avinash Gupta, who actively contributed to the program’s success. The club also distributed biscuits, chocolates, and refreshments, adding warmth to the initiative. The project truly reflected Rotary’s theme “Unite for Good,” upholding the spirit of Service Above Self and strengthening Rotary’s bond with the community.
