Overview
The Rotary Club of Siliguri Midtown inaugurated a water filtration plant at R.D. Primary School, Bagdogra, a West Bengal govt school. The project was supported by noted social worker Mr. Shivnath Sharma of Punjabi Para, Siliguri. The ribbon-cutting was done by Mr. Sharma and Rotary District Governor Dr. Kameshwar Singh Elangbam. Club President Rtn. Sanjay Goyal said the initiative addresses a vital need, thanking Mr. Sharma for his support. Dr. Elangbam urged proper upkeep of the plant. Club Secretary Rtn. Dr. Nikhil Agarwal highlighted the importance of unity and collective effort. The project will benefit around 800 people, including students, staff, and families, by providing access to clean drinking water. Rtn. Goyal said, “Clean drinking water is not a luxury — it is a basic human necessity.” The event saw participation from Rotary members, school staff, and local dignitaries, united for a noble cause.
